Saving battery on long days

Simple settings that keep your phone alive past sunset.

Field Mode uses under 5 percent battery per hour of active use, but your phone does a lot of other things in the cold. These help.

  • Turn on airplane mode once you are out of signal
  • Keep your phone in an inside pocket, close to your body
  • Use Check-in reminders rather than leaving the map open
  • Bring a small battery pack for anything over a day
